Small Grains
Small grain variety testing at Iowa State University consists of both winter and spring small grains. The spring planted small grains include barley and oats while the winter test consists of winter wheat and winter triticale. Winter wheat is tested at Ames, Nashua, and Crawfordsville while winter triticale is tested at Ames, Sutherland, and Crawfordsville. Barley is tested at Ames, Sutherland, and Nashua with oats grown at the five locations of Ames, Sutherland, Nashua, Crawfordsville, and Lewis.
