Alfalfa

On this page you'll find information about our testing guidelines and procedures, entry form, and data from the current and prior testing years. We provide direct, unbiased comparisons among a large number of commercial varieties and experimental entries in four year trials. We have two different environments to choose from, Ames and Nashua, Iowa. All yield data will be analyzed and distributed by the end of September. Data from commercial varieties is published in an extension bulletin, while data from experimental entries is only distributed to the entrants. There is no other way to get this type of high quality plot management, statistical integrity, and timely access to information. Our program is backed by an 80-year history of testing, and the credibility of the Iowa Crop Improvement Association, Iowa State University Extension and Iowa State University.
